I believe that
neurology effects biology which effects health!
What does this mean? As the more active or
sedentary you become the more stresses you put on
the body. Stresses put onto the body either from
activity or sedentary lifestyle tends to tighten
or weaken the body's postural muscles, leading to
a compensated posture or poor posture. When the
muscles are effected this creates tension and
movement on the bones joints, causing these joints
to move into an abnormal position. When the bone
alignments are changed this causes pressures and
stresses to the nerves that exit the spine and
transverse throughout the body.
When we have pressure or stress on
nerves this creates an uneven flow of the nerve
impulses to the organs or tissues. This creates
either immediate or slowly over time a biological
malfunction to the supplied organ or tissue, thus
resulting in poor health. The effect on your
health has many different symptoms, such as muscle
spasms, back pain and numbness into the legs or
arms. This can also elevate the effects of asthma,
diabetes or even gastrointestinal disorders.
Prevention of these symptoms starts
with the three phases of chiropractic care. The
three phases are relief, corrective and wellness.
The relief phase is to reduce or eliminate pain.
The relief phase is where most people are
introduced to chiropractic care. The next phase is
corrective care. The corrective phase is to
restore the body to normal or maximum function to
prevent pain from returning.
The wellness phase is the most
essential part of our treatment plan. The first
purpose of wellness care is to prevent relapses of
previous conditions and second, to address new
conditions before symptoms appear. Remember, pain
is the last symptom to appear and the first to
disappear.
As a chiropractor, my job is to help you get
your spine in alignment and to move how it is
supposed to. When the spine is in its optimal
position this helps to reduces the irritation to
the nerves. Reducing the pressure on the nerves
helps the organs and tissues in the body to
perform efficiently. When your spine is maintained
your quality of life is enhanced without pain or
discomfort.

Condition
Of The Month:

Carpal
Tunnel
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the
compression of the median nerve at the wrist, which may
result in numbness, tingling, weakness, or muscle
atrophy in the hand and fingers. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
is common in people who perform repetitive motions of
the hand and wrist, such as typing. When the wrist is
poorly positioned, there isn't enough space for the
median nerve to travel to the hand. Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome is caused by pressure exerted on the median
nerve at the point where it passes through the wrist.
The median nerve supplies sensation to the thumb-side of
the ring finger. It also supplies movement to part of
the hand. The nerve enters the hand between the wrist
bones (called the carpal bones) and the tough membrane
that holds the bones together (the transverse carpal
ligament). This space is called the carpal tunnel. Since
the passageway is rigid, any swelling in this area can
cause compression of the nerve (this is also called
entrapment of the nerve).

NUTRITION:

You've probably seen ads for low-carb
foods and diets, but kids and adults need carbohydrates
(say: kar-bo-hi-draytz). Most foods contain
carbohydrates, which the body breaks down into simple
sugars - the major source of energy for the
body.
Two Types of Carbohydrates
Simple carbohydrates: These
are also called simple sugars. Simple sugars are found
in refined sugars, like the white sugar you'd find in a
sugar bowl. If you have a lollipop, you're eating simple
carbs. But you'll also find simple sugars in more
nutritious foods, such as fruit and milk. It's better to
get your simple sugars from food like fruit and milk.
Why? Because they contain vitamins, fiber, and important
nutrients like calcium. A lollipop does not.
Complex carbohydrates: These
are also called starches. Starches include grain
products, such as bread, crackers, pasta, and rice. As
with simple sugars, some complex carbohydrate foods are
better choices than others. Refined (say: ree-find)
grains, such as white flour and white rice, have been
processed, which removes nutrients and fiber. But
unrefined grains still contain these vitamins and
minerals. Unrefined grains also are rich in fiber, which
helps your digestive system work well. Fiber helps you
feel full, so you are less likely to overeat these
foods. That explains why a bowl of oatmeal fills you up
better than sugary candy that has the same amount of
calories as the oatmeal.
So which type of carbs should you eat?
Both can be part of a healthy diet.
How the Body Uses Carbohydrates
When you eat carbs, the body breaks them
down into simple sugars, which are absorbed into the
bloodstream. As the sugar level rises in your body, the
pancreas releases a hormone called insulin. Insulin is
needed to move sugar from the blood into the cells,
where the sugar can be used as a source of energy.
When this process goes fast - as with
simple sugars - you're more likely to feel hungry again
soon. When it occurs more slowly, as with a whole-grain
food, you'll be satisfied longer. These types of complex
carbohydrates give you energy over a longer period of
time.
The carbs in some foods (mostly those that
contain a lot of simple sugars) cause the blood sugar
level to rise more quickly than others. Scientists have
been studying whether eating foods that cause big jumps
in blood sugar may be related to health problems like
diabetes and heart disease. You're probably already on
the right track if you are limiting simple sugars (such
as candy) and eating more complex carbohydrates (like
vegetables, oatmeal, and whole-grain wheat
bread).

Here
are 7 tips that will help you relax when you're feeling
stressed.
1. Take a Warm Bath:
Soaking in a tub full of warm water can work wonders
when you're feeling stressed. The warm water relaxes you
physically, loosening tight, stiff muscles. And, as a
result, you relax mentally as well.
2. Read a Good Book:
One of the
best ways to deal with a stressful situation, especially
if the stress is caused by something you have no control
over, is to not think about it. And one of the easiest
ways to get your mind off things that are bothering you
is to read a good book. You can read the latest best
seller that you've been looking forward to. Or, if you
don't think you will be able to concentrate on anything
new, choose an old favorite that you're already familiar
with.
3. Listen to Some
Music:
It's a
proven fact that soothing music can be relaxing. The
type of music you choose is entirely up to you. Buy a CD
or cassette featuring soft, modern ballads, gentle
classics, smooth jazz, or New Age music. When you feel
stressed, pop the music into the player and let the
music carry you away.
4. Take a Deep
Breath:
Something
as simple as taking a couple of deep breaths can work
wonders. So, the next time you feel stressed, take a few
slow, deep breaths. And, if you can, add a full body
stretch. Stretching and yawning are also
relaxing.
5. Try Aromatherapy:
Certain scents
have been found to have a calming, relaxing effect on
the human body. One of those scents is lavender. You can
buy lavender candles at a health food store or online,
and place them around your home or office. Whenever
you're feeling stressed, burning a lavender candle can
help you relax. Just make sure your lavender candles are
made with essential oils.
6. Try
Visualization: The things you visualize or imagine can
actually have an effect on your mood. The next time you
are feeling stressed, take a moment to close your eyes
and imagine that you are somewhere more relaxing, like
on a beach. Imagine that you can feel the cool breeze
against your skin, and hear the ocean waves. If you're
stressed about a situation, like giving a speech in
front of a large crowd, close your eyes and visualize
yourself giving the speech, and everything going
perfectly. Visualization can help you feel calmer, and
better able to deal with whatever has you feeling
stressed in the first place.
7. Spend
Time Outdoors: Sunlight and fresh air have
remarkable abilities to heal our spirit. Often something
just as simple as taking a short walk around the block
can help reset our priorities. Even yard work can be
relaxing if approached from the right frame of
mind.

Grand Homes Real
Estate

As owner of Grand Homes Real Estate, I have been in
the business for 31 yrs and purchased this office 4 yrs
ago when it was The Western Group Corona. We are
primarily a Residential Real Estate Company; however, we
do work with some commercial properties. We have an
in-house escrow, Hartland Escrow Division, and a
property management company, Goode Home Management. We
currently have over 30 agents and we began with only 12
agents, 4 yrs ago. Jason Francis is the Sales manager
which has helped to build this office to what it is
today. Manny DeSilvia began as our property manager 3
years ago with 9 rental properties and we now have over
50 properties at this time. We have a REO dept
(foreclosures) and Carolyn Walker is my manager. We have
several banks that we work with and we have access to
the most recent foreclosures on the
market.
With all the stress of managing three
businesses it has been great to be able to go to Dr
Lechner's office to get relief. He adjusts my back with
a drop table method, which I like very much, because it
isn't as invasive as the regular adjustment to me.
I never wanted to go to a Chiropractor before but
with Dr Lechner I'm not nervous or feel afraid of an
adjustment, as a matter of fact I feel a lot better when
he's done. I have recommended Dr Lechner too many of my
friends and
co-workers. | | |
